HIGH SPEED MULTIPLE NETWORK PROTECTION
Introducing the Smart Series RJ45-16 High Speed Network Protection. Line-induced spikes and voltage surges that could damage the host computer, PLC, or controller are easily suppressed by the RJ45-16. This rack-mounted unit is flange mountable and fits conveniently between the hub output and terminals, using two standard RJ connectors for easy connection and disconnection.
Damaging energy is diverted to system earth through fast-acting components, with the earth connection linked via a plug for quick removal or replacement of the device.
The RJ45-16 is designed to protect devices connected through network cabling on a Direct Current (DC) supply. The device does not filter (as it is not connected to AC power), but provides spike and surge protection to maintain high-speed, uninterrupted data transfer.
A solid earth connection is essential to maximise the protection circuit’s performance. When a dangerous high-voltage spike or surge is detected, the RJ45-16 immediately diverts the voltage down to earth. If the surge is too large to fully discharge, the RJ45-16’s internal protection circuit absorbs the remaining energy.
In extreme conditions, the RJ45-16 is designed to sacrifice itself, preventing damage to connected equipment and minimising costly downtime. Replacement of the RJ45-16 rack protection unit is straightforward, fast, and ensures continuous, reliable protection for your network infrastructure.
